FIELD: food industry; medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to food compositions formed for stimulation of the development of the nervous system in developing subjects. A food composition for stimulation of the development of the nervous system of an infant at the age from 3 to 18 months is proposed, containing: i. from 1 to 70 mcg of iodine; ii. from 1 to 8.5 mcg of vitamin D; iii. from 1 to 55 mg of choline; and iv. from 1 to 10 mg of iron; wherein iodine is obtained from at least one iodine-containing food product; vitamin D is obtained from at least one food product containing vitamin D; choline is obtained from at least one food product containing choline; and iron is obtained from at least one iron-containing food product. A method for stimulation of the development of the nervous system of an infant at the age from 3 to 18 months is also proposed, including the administration to the specified infant of the specified food composition.

EFFECT: invention allows for obtaining food compositions formed for stimulation of the development of the nervous system in developing subjects, which can provide to a subject those nutrients, which are necessary or otherwise positively affect developing brain areas and their neurons during specific strictly determined time intervals of the development of the neural system.
