SUBSTANCE: invention relates to infant formulas. Formulas contain fat, protein, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals, and, in ready to use form contain docosahexaenoic acid in an amount of approximately from 72 to approximately 360 mg/l, at least approximately 50 mcg/l lutein, wherein mass ratio of lutein (mcg) and docosahexaenoic acid (mg) ranges from 1:2 to 10:1, wherein formula does not contain egg phospholipids.
EFFECT: combination of lutein and docosahexaenoic acid in said formulas helps to enhancement a healthy state of retina and vision development in infants, and reduces risk of retinopathy of prematurity in preterm infants.
