FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to analytical chemistry, in particular, to chemistry of organic compounds, and can be used for releasing and analytically detecting nicotinic acid in the processes of producing complexes thereof with iron, nickel, or copper cations, applicable as biologically active supplements. The invention relates to a method for releasing nicotinic acid from an aqueous solution containing iron, nickel, or copper cations, including the filtration of an aqueous solution of a mixture of nicotinic acid with a metal salt through a layer of sorbent; subsequent desorption of the acid and analysis of the eluate by a spectrophotometric method, wherein a sulphonated copolymer of styrene with divinyl benzene sulphocationite CU-2-8 is applied as a sorbent, distilled water is applied as an eluent, and a high level of release of nicotinic acid from a multicomponent aqueous solution containing iron, nickel, or copper cations is achieved.
EFFECT: creation of a method for releasing nicotinic acid from a multicomponent aqueous solution containing nicotinic acid as well as iron, nickel, or copper cations, allowing for a level of release equal to 98–99% of the content thereof in the initial solution.
