FIELD: chemical or physical processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the technology of producing sulphocationites by sulphonation of long-flame coal for demineralization of water at thermal power plants and boiler plants. Method is carried out by successive sulphonation of long-flame coal swollen in dichloroethane with concentrated sulfuric acid. Then a mixture of concentrated sulfuric acid with oleum at a ratio of parts by volume of 3:2, respectively.
EFFECT: obtaining a sulphocationite with increased cation-exchange capacity for strongly acidic groups, high mechanical strength and chemical stability, high separation factors in a series of cations.
