FIELD: electroplating.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electroplating, namely, to local application of an electroplated chromium coating on sections of the surface of products. Apparatus for local chromium plating of products comprises an electrolyte bath with tools for the supply and drainage thereof, and a cover. An anode, a heating element, an electrolyte stirring appliance, a temperature sensor, a control unit, and a steam catcher are secured on the cover. The contour of the base of the bath is congruent to the surface of the product.
EFFECT: creation of local chromium-plated sections of a set shape, area, and thickness on the surface of metal products of various configurations and sizes, ensuring the automatic process of chromium plating.
