FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method involves mechanical action on the processed article during electrolysis at current density of 10-500 A/dm2 with an instrument during its relative movement about the processed article and rotation of the article. Mechanical action takes place while the article rotates at 60-120 rpm and electrolyte temperature of 50-70°C using an instrument which is in form of rollers which are freely rotating and freely moving about their own axis with the least angle between the axis of the processed article and axes of the rollers in the range of 20-90° and weight of each roller in the range of 1-50 g, whereby the instrument moves about the processed article at a rate of 15-250 double strokes/min and the amplitude of instrument is determined using the formula: A=D-2D, where A is amplitude of movement of the instrument and D is the maximum diametre of the roller.
EFFECT: design of a method for electro-mechanical chromium-plating cylindrical articles, which enables to obtain high quality coating.
