FIELD: electroplating.
SUBSTANCE: device for chrome plating of long shafts and rods. The installation of horizontal internal chrome plating contains a flow bath, systems for supplying and discharging electrolyte, a mechanism for rotating the product, a source of process current and current leads, while the galvanic bath is formed by the inner surface of the chrome-plated product and the inner surface of the drain and pressure heads, hermetically connected to the chrome-plated product at both ends. The anode is located inside the chrome-plated product coaxially to the walls of its channel and cantilevered in a contact located outside the product and electrically isolated from both the product and the installation structure, and the second end of the anode is equipped with a rolling support resting on the internal walls of the chrome-plated product in the area not subject to chrome plating and not preventing the flow of electrolyte through the gap between the anode and the product. The cathode is the chrome-plated product itself.
EFFECT: increased density and uniformity in thickness of the deposited chromium coating on the inner surface of long hollow products at a high current density.
