FIELD: electroplating.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electroplating, in particular, to apparatus for chrome plating of long-length shafts and stems. Machine comprises a load-bearing frame, constituting a welded metal structure whereon a platform for servicing the unit is installed on top; a bath is installed vertically inside the frame, made with a central hole in the bottom, whereto a sealing unit is rigidly fixed, wherein the upper part of the bath is equipped with an overflow bowl and vapour discharge holes; an access hatch is made in the lower part of the bath, and an electrolyte supply and exhaust neck is located; an anode cage consisting of vertical anode rods fixed at the same pitch on an electrically insulated base is installed inside the bath, wherein the anode rods are suspended from the supporting frame on an electrically insulated base and additionally secured one to another by means of intermediate rings; the upper and lower current leads made in the form of collectors with a rotating disk and a fixed block of contact plates on both sides of the disk, wherein the upper current lead is installed on a movable frame configured to be lifted, and the lower current supply is fixed under the bath; a rotation drive made to rotate the item is installed in the upper part of the supporting frame.

EFFECT: creation of an apparatus for chrome plating of long-length items which provides a uniform coating.
