FIELD: radar technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for controlling flights and landing of aircraft in the near airfield zone using a landing radar (LR). The method for landing aircraft includes obtaining data on the location of the aircraft in the airspace using a landing radar, performing radar measurements of the coordinates of remote control devices (RCD) of course 1 and 2 and RCD of glide path 1 and 2 and by comparing the received current values of the radar coordinates of the RCD with known values of the true coordinates of the corresponding RCD, evaluating current systematic and random values of errors in measuring radar spherical coordinates (range, azimuth and angle of location) both the RCD and the aircraft detected by the LR.

EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of determining the location of the aircraft in space when controlling flights and landing of the aircraft using a landing radar, and increase in the reliability of detecting and tracking aircraft landing in accordance with the spatial parameters of the planned descent glide path line within the specified angular or linear deviations along the course and glide path.
