SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a seal for an electrolytic cell, which includes: an anode, a cathode, and a sheet separating plate that separates the anode and cathode, where the seal for the cell is designed to hold the separating plate. In this case, the cell includes: a metal anode frame in the form of a picture frame, in the central part of which there is a hole for creating an anode chamber; and a cathode metal frame having the same shape as the anode metal frame, in the central part of which there is a hole for forming a cathode chamber; wherein the anode is installed in the hole of the metal frame of the anode, the cathode is installed in the hole of the metal frame of the cathode, and the seal for the cell is tightly fixed between the metal frame of the anode and the metal frame of the cathode, the seal for the cell includes one thin sheet frame having the shape of a picture frame, the shape of which is approximately the same with an anode metal frame shape and a cathode metal frame shape, the picture frame-shaped sheet frame includes: a first surface in intimate contact with the anode metal frame and a second surface in close contact with the cathode metal frame; the sheet frame has a structure obtained after forming on any of the first surface and the second surface of a recess having a level difference approximately coinciding with the thickness of the separation plate, where the recess is formed by shallow removal of the same thickness from the area including the edge of the sheet frame from the anode or cathode side , and the edge part of the separation plate is inserted into the gap formed between the recess and the anode metal frame or the cathode metal frame, and the separation plate is held in place closer to the anode surface or closer to the cathode surface. The invention also relates to two variants of the cell.

EFFECT: in the proposed design, the separation plate can be inserted and held inside the cell in a simple operation.
