FIELD: information protection.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to optically variable protective devices containing protective threads, inserts, labels, strips. Protective devices use a lens-free structure, in which a set of symbol layers are connected for provision of an artificially created image or an artificial color, which has an optically variable effect. Each symbol layer contains a symbol array with high resolution, which are aligned relatively to each other and located at a distance from each other to provide a desired optically variable effect.
EFFECT: invention provides for confirmation of authenticity of protected documents.
