FIELD: nuclear power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a cleaning composition for deactivation of surfaces, in particular radioactive surfaces, and to a corresponding deactivation method. The method includes the application to the specified parts of an aqueous composition (C) containing:. at least one component selected from citric acid, oxalic acid, tartaric acid, malic acid, etc., from 12 to 45%, preferably from 20 to 35%; a solvent from 1 to 6%; a surfactant from 2 to 7%; a non-polar solvent from 0.3 to 10%, preferably from 2 to 5%.
EFFECT: invention allows for effective cleaning of contaminated surfaces, for example, inner surfaces of a nuclear reactor, and it is biodegradable.
