SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to infectious diseases, and can be used to predict the effectiveness of anti-inflammatory therapy with glucocorticosteroid hormones in patients with moderate COVID-19. In a patient with a moderate course of COVID-19, who has indications for the appointment of anti-inflammatory therapy with glucocorticosteroid hormones, immediately before the appointment, the absolute number of lymphocytes, platelets and the maximum body temperature during the day are determined. After that, the value of the prediction of the effectiveness of anti-inflammatory therapy with glucocorticosteroid hormones is calculated. The calculation of the efficiency indicator P is carried out according to the original formula. At a value of P≥0.697, the probability of effective use of glucocorticosteroids is defined as low, and at P<0.697, the probability of effective use of glucocorticosteroids is defined as high.

EFFECT: method allows to carry out a prognostic assessment of the effectiveness of the therapy, to make a timely decision on the need to escalate the ongoing anti-inflammatory therapy, thereby increasing the effectiveness of the treatment of patients.
