FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to non-ferrous metallurgy, and in particular to a method for processing a gold-based alloy, and can be used in instrument making, for example, in the production of high-strength sliding contacts for transmitting weak electrical signals. A method for manufacturing electrical contacts from gold-based alloys includes preliminary deformation of a contact pair consisting of a ring and a brush, heating it to 420-550°C, exposure for 10-120 min, cooling at a rate of 1-20 deg/min, mechanical processing and subsequent annealing, while an alloy with a gold content of 80 wt.% is used as a gold-based alloy, machining is carried out by plastic deformation with a reduction of no more than 50%, reheating is carried out to temperatures from 150 to 300°C with an arbitrary speed, kept in this temperature range for at least 6 hours, and then the contact pair is cooled to room temperature.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at obtaining an alloy with reduced electrical resistivity and high strength properties due to the formation of a two-phase ordered structure.
