SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an ice generator and a refrigerator. Ice generator comprises an upper and a lower trays defining an upper and a lower ice chambers; a lower support supporting the lower tray; a lower heater mounted on the lower support; and a control unit configured to control the lower heater. An upper hole is provided in the upper side of the upper tray. The control unit is configured to vary the output power of the lower heater in the process of ice generation so as to collect air bubbles in the water in the ice chamber in the lowest section of the ice chamber.

EFFECT: invention contributes to the production of ice of a uniform transparency.
