FIELD: beverage making.

SUBSTANCE: espresso coffee machine is described, wherein the mentioned machine contains a water supply device, a water heating boiler, a pump, a dosing group made with the possibility of interaction with a portafilter equipped with a filter basket with a coffee powder washer, wherein the machine is made with the possibility of supply of water under pressure to the mentioned coffee powder washer for dosing espresso coffee, and a water control system for control of at least one water characteristic used for making espresso coffee. The control system preferably contains a conductivity and temperature sensor, which continuously issues in real time water hardness values obtained based on information on electroconductivity and water temperature.

EFFECT: creation of a device, which will be sequentially inserted into a water inlet of a coffee machine, wherein the mentioned device provides measurement in real time of a number of important chemical characteristics, which can provide important information on supplied water quality.
