FIELD: aviation and rocket technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for automated cutting of quartz and silica fabrics and can be used in aviation and rocket technology for cutting blanks from quartz and silica fabrics intended for the manufacture of an ablative heat-protective coating (HPC) and aerodynamic controls for high-speed rocket products. The method includes laying a fabric on a substrate and cutting with a gas-laser beam along a predetermined trajectory. Quartz and silica fabrics with a surface density of not more than 10 kg×m-2 are taken as blanks. The fabric is fed automatically, and a lamella table equipped with a device for fixing and tensioning the fabric is used as a substrate. The workpieces are cut with a laser beam with the following parameters: power not more than 90 W and movement speed not more than 25 mm/s, which allow cutting the fabric in one pass with minimal melting of the edges of the workpiece.
EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of cutting and the quality of quartz and silica fabrics obtained by cutting.
