FIELD: heat insulating materials.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for the manufacture of high-temperature thermal insulation material. The method for obtaining press fiber includes preparation and mixing of the mass with its subsequent drying, crushing and pressing. The mass for the manufacture of press fiber includes a binder and filler in a ratio of 1.3:1 in terms of dry residue. As a binder, a solution of powdered phenol-formaldehyde resin of the novolac type with a 1% content of free phenol in ethyl, isopropyl or propyl alcohol is used. Viscose carbon nonwoven fiber felt is used as a filler. Mixing of the mass is carried out at room temperature for at least 40 minutes, drying at 75°C for 3 hours in a closed mixer with air circulation and removal of volatile substances from the working chamber.
EFFECT: reducing the density and thermal conductivity of the press fiber while increasing its strength.
