FIELD: waste treatment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the development of effective extractants for the isolation of long-lived radionuclides of caesium and strontium from nitric acid media and can be used in the processing of liquid radioactive waste. The extraction mixture for the isolation of caesium and/or strontium from nitric acid solutions includes crown ether having substituted aromatic fragments containing alkyl substituents of branched structure, and/or crown ether having substituted cyclohexane fragments containing alkyl substituents of branched structure, and an organic solvent immiscible with water. As an organic solvent, the mixture contains carbonates of fluorinated alcohols.
EFFECT: developing the composition of an extraction mixture based on a single-component solvent for the isolation of caesium and/or strontium from nitric acid solutions with a high degree of their extraction.
