FIELD: microbiology.

SUBSTANCE: described is a method for studying the microbiota of the large intestine by determining the DNA of the intestinal microorganisms by the polymerase chain reaction method. Method includes ensuring the interaction of a microbiota sample with a set of oligonucleotide primers, and for each oligonucleotide in said set of primers, determining the number of target nucleotide sequences thereof present in said sample. A microbiota profile is then derived from the relative numbers of target nucleotide sequences present in the sample. Also disclosed is a set for implementing the method. The set includes wax-sealed strips with mixtures of oligonucleotide amplification primers, a Taq polymerase solution, a positive control sample, a negative control sample, and mineral oil.

EFFECT: more informative method for studying the microbiota and set for the implementation thereof developed due to the larger number of determined target sequences and the use of more precise oligonucleotide primers.
