FIELD: hydrometallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to hydrometallurgy and can be used to purify aqueous solutions from nickel ions. The method includes adding aluminum ions to the solution until the mass concentration ratio of aluminum ions to nickel ions is 0.21≤Al/Ni≤2.5 at solution pH equal to 7≤pH≤8. If necessary, the pH value of the initial solution is adjusted to a value of 7≤pH≤8 by adding alkali metal hydroxide while constantly monitoring the pH. Then the solution is kept at room temperature with constant stirring for 30 min and filtered. Water-soluble aluminum salts are used as the compound containing aluminum ions.
EFFECT: high degree of purification of aqueous solutions from nickel ions while maintaining a low alkalinity of the medium.
