SUBSTANCE: invention discloses a data transmission method and a communication device. A method is proposed, which contains stages, at which, by means of the first communication device, a target data transmission mode is determined, where the target data transmission mode is used for indication of a number of transmission cases, when the first communication device transmits an encoded bit combination to the second communication device, and the encoded bit combination is transmitted every time, wherein the encoded bit combination may contain one encoded bit sequence or a set of encoded bit sequences, and the encoded bit sequence is obtained by encoding of all or part of K information bits; and, by means of the first communication device, the encoded bit combination is sent to the second communication device in the target data transmission mode, by means of the second communication device, the encoded bit combination is received, sent by the first communication device, and the encoded bit sequence contained in the encoded bit combination is decoded.
