SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of power engineering and chemical industry in terms of coal recycling in devices with a boiling layer for obtainment of carbonized coal. A method for recycling of coal in a reactor with a boiling layer includes supply of coal to the reactor with the boiling layer, thermal recycling of coal in the reactor with the boiling layer, in which a volume of the boiling layer and time of coal processing in the boiling layer are adjusted by movement by a mechanical feeder of boiling layer material along a gas-distributing grate having a shape of a semicylinder surface. The gas-distributing grate is purified from slag by movement of a working body of the mechanical feeder.

EFFECT: provision of long-term operation of a boiling layer reactor and increase in the quality of carbonizate by ash content, volatile content, calorific capacity.
