FIELD: ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: multifocal ophthalmic lens is proposed, which includes an ophthalmic lens and a diffraction element. The ophthalmic lens has a basic curvature corresponding to a basic force. The diffraction element provides enhancing interference in at least four subsequent diffraction orders in a vision range between a near vision and a far vision. Enhancing interference provides a near focus, a far focus corresponding to the basic force of the ophthalmic lens, and an intermediate focus between the near focus and the far focus. The efficiency of diffraction of at least one of diffraction orders is suppressed to less than ten percent.

EFFECT: obtaining a multifocal ophthalmic lens.
