FIELD: ophthalmology.
SUBSTANCE: multifocal ophthalmic lens has a basic curvature corresponding to the base force, and a diffractive element providing amplifying interference in at least four successive diffraction orders, corresponding to the range of vision between vision near and vision in the distance. Enhancing interference provides near focus, long-range focus corresponding to the base strength, and an intermediate focus between the near focus and the far focus. Diffraction efficiency of at least one diffractive order is suppressed to at least less than ten percent.
EFFECT: technical result is an improvement in image quality due to the elimination of spurious higher diffraction orders.
