FIELD: encoding.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image encoding tools. Predictive samples are retrieved for the current block based on BDPCM (block-based delta pulse code modulation). Residual samples are retrieved for the current block based on the predictive samples. Quantisation is performed for the residual samples. The quantised residual information is retrieved based on BDPCM. The quantised residual information and the encoding information for the current block are encoded. Based on applying BDPCM to the current block, indivisible conversion is not applied to the current block. The encoding information includes a conversion index for the indivisible conversion applied to the current block, wherein the conversion index is not encoded when BDPCM is applied to the current block.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of image encoding.
