FIELD: image processing means.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image encoding technology. Result is achieved by obtaining image information including a multiple transformation selection (MTS) index and residual information from the bit stream, based on which quantised transformation coefficients are extracted to obtain transformation coefficients for the current block by performing dequantization over quantised transformation coefficients. Residual samples of the current block are formed by performing an inverse transformation on the transformation coefficients based on the set of transformation kernels associated with the MTS index, which is a set of conversion kernels, which must be applied to the current unit, from possible versions of sets of conversion kernels. Further, resolution elements from the MTS index resolution elements row are extracted based on context encoding, executed based on context index increment values for resolution elements from MTS-index resolution elements row, wherein resolution elements from the row of resolution elements of the MTS index include four resolution elements.

EFFECT: high efficiency of encoding images/video.
