FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to means for encoding and decoding images. Prediction samples are extracted for the current block based on block-based delta-pulse code modulation (BDPCM). Residual samples are extracted for the current block on the basis of prediction samples. Residual samples are quantized. Quantized residual information is extracted based on BDPCM. Quantised residual information and flag information related to the BDPCM for the current block are encoded. Based on the fact that the width of the current block is less than or equal to the first threshold value, and the height of the current block is less than or equal to the second threshold value, flag information is encoded. Based on the fact that the BDPCM is applied to the current block, the inseparable transformation is not applied to the current block. Based on the fact that the BDPCM is applied to the current block, the transform index for the inseparable transform is not encoded.
EFFECT: high coding efficiency.
