SUBSTANCE: type of intra prediction for the current block is determined. Intra prediction type information is generated for the current block based on the type of intra prediction. The prediction samples of the current block are retrieved based on the type of intra prediction. The residual samples of the current block are formed based on the predictive samples. Transform coefficients for the current block based on the residual samples are retrieved. Information about coefficients of the transformation is formed. Intra prediction type information and information on transform coefficients are encoded. The intra prediction type information includes a matrix intra prediction (MIP) flag representing whether or not MIP is applied to the current block. Information regarding the transform coefficients includes low-frequency non-separable transform (LFNST) index information.

EFFECT: increase in efficiency of video encoding.
