FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: Baikal skullcap roots are sliced in segments of 2-3 mm. The sliced segments are encapsulated in an alginate coating containing a hormone-free Gamborg nutrient with the antibiotic klaforan added. Klaforan is concentrated 300-550 mg/l. The method allows producing an enhanced culture manifesting no signs of bacterial infection for one year and a half and having higher growth-regulating activity values and primary flavone concentration as compared with an stock culture of the root.
EFFECT: maintained long-storage seed viability of root fragments in a low positive temperature environment.
