FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely gastroenterology, and can be used for capsule endoscopy of the esophageal-gastric junction with a “PillCam COLON2” video capsule. The patient is placed on the couch in a position posterior to the vertical axis by 45°. Next, the patient swallows the video capsule and stays in the indicated position for at least 1.5 minutes. Without changing the position, the patient drinks water at room temperature in a volume of at least 150 ml.

EFFECT: method makes it possible to examine of the mucous membrane of the esophagus and pancreas by video capsular endoscopy due to the optimal position of the patient’s body when swallowing the video capsule so as to slow down the passage of the video capsule through the esophagus.
