FIELD: nuclear technology.
SUBSTANCE: machine for grinding radioactive long elements contains a power frame, a power rod with force sensors, a chopping mechanism, a feeding device for radioactive long elements equipped with a gripper, a feed sensor and a force sensor on the gripper, a gamma radiation dose rate meter for radioactive long elements, a graphite remover, and a telescopic pipe, a sensor for monitoring radioactive long elements, a rotary table with containers for receiving crushed waste of radioactive long elements. The method of using the machine is to feed radioactive long elements into the receiving tract of the cutting machine and to move them on the gripper of the feed mechanism into the cutting area. In the process of moving each radioactive long element for each of its coordinates, the gamma radiation dose rate meter of radioactive long elements is used to determine the gamma radiation dose rate in this area.
EFFECT: ability to expand the range of long elements, ensure selectivity of cutting and separate storage by waste categories.
