FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of medicine, namely to a method for treatment of catheters from biofilm. The method for treatment from biofilm contains following stages: injection of a solution containing 4.0-15.0 weight-volumetric % (“wt./vol. %”) of trisodium citrate and 15.0-25.0 vol./vol. % of ethyl alcohol into the target environment; and maintenance of a contact between the solution and the target environment to provide at least one of prevention of the formation of biofilm and elimination of biofilm, which has formed in the target environment. At the same time, the target environment is free of precipitate of trisodium citrate, while the solution has pH level in the range from 4.0 to 8.0, wherein the target environment is at least a section of a catheter system, wherein the solution does not contain glyceryl trinitrates (GTN).

EFFECT: above-mentioned invention allows for prevention of the formation of biofilm and/or elimination of biofilm formed inside a catheter system, and, thus, significant reduction in the risks related to blood flow infections, violation of catheter system operation, embolus formation, discomfort for a patient, and patient’s disease.
