FIELD: laser butt welding.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for laser butt welding of sheets of dissimilar metal alloys. Perform synchronous double-sided laser welding. The welded sheet (1) is installed vertically (on the end) relative to the horizontal plane of the table, rigidly fixed, ensuring its immobility in all directions, thus forming a butt joint between the sheet (1) and sheet (2). If necessary, mechanical and (or) chemical preparation of the surfaces of the sheets to be welded is carried out. Pressure rollers, shielding gas supply tubes (5, 6, 7, 8), laser heads are brought symmetrically to opposite sides of the joint plane of the sheets to be welded (1) and (2). The angle formed between the directions of the laser beams is set in a plane perpendicular to the direction of welding. The pressure rollers are installed at a distance of 10–35 mm in front of the point where the laser beam acts on the joint of the sheets with a force of 30–100 N per 1 mm of the sheet thickness. The laser beams are shifted towards the alloy, which in the molten state better wets the second alloy to be welded.

EFFECT: by minimizing the overheating of the interaction area of dissimilar metals, which is closer to the point of impact of the laser beam, minimizing welding deformations and the intermetallic layer, the quality of the welded joint is improved, the performance, strength and reliability of the joint from dissimilar materials are improved.
