FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the physiology and biotechnology of equine reproduction and can be used in predicting the effectiveness of cryopreservation of stallion sperm. Method consists in determining the number of CFU of E. coli in the ejaculate. If the number of CFU of E. coli is 250 per 1 cm3 of the ejaculate or lower, stallion sperm cell motility after defrosting above 3.5 points, or 35%, is predicted; if the number of CFU of E. coli is 250 to 3,500 per 1 cm3 of the ejaculate, stallion sperm cell motility after defrosting from 2.5 to 3.5 points, or 25 to 35 %, is predicted; if the number of CFU of E. coli is over 3,500 per 1 cm3 of the ejaculate, stallion sperm cell motility after defrosting less than 2.5 points, or 25%, is predicted.
EFFECT: higher effectiveness of predicting cryopreservation of each particular stallion ejaculate.
