SUBSTANCE: invention is a method for predicting the general bacterial contamination of freshly obtained stallion sperm, relates to the physiology and biotechnology of horse reproduction and can be used in breeding, sports and productive horse breeding. The method involves selecting ejaculates from stallions with known immunogenetic indicators and predicting the bacterial contamination of freshly obtained sperm of stallions using antigens K of the blood group system, determining the total bacterial contamination by the number of colony-forming units of bacteria, and if a stallion is found to have no antigens K of the blood group system the total bacterial contamination of freshly obtained sperm is predicted to be more than 2400 CFU/cm3, if a/- antigen K of the blood group system is detected in a stallion, total bacterial contamination of freshly obtained sperm is predicted to be up to 2400 CFU/cm3.

EFFECT: invention improves the efficiency of predicting the total bacterial contamination of freshly obtained stallion sperm.
