SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the physiology and biotechnology of horse reproduction and can be used in breeding, sports and productive horse breeding. The method for predicting the total bacterial contamination of freshly obtained stallion sperm includes the selection of ejaculates from stallions with known immunogenetic parameters. Prediction of bacterial contamination of freshly obtained sperm of stallions is carried out by immunogenetic alleles of the blood group A system, determining the total bacterial contamination by the number of colony-forming units of bacteria. If a stallion has the a/-allele of the blood group A system, a total bacterial contamination of freshly obtained sperm up to 2500 CFU/cm3 is predicted. If a stallion is found to have no alleles of the blood group A system, the total bacterial contamination of freshly obtained sperm is predicted from 2500 to 3000 CFU/cm3. If the ad/-allele of the blood group A system is detected in a stallion, the total bacterial contamination of freshly obtained sperm is more than 3000 CFU/cm3.

EFFECT: invention provides an increase in the efficiency of predicting the total bacterial contamination of freshly obtained stallion sperm.
