FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to surgical and orthopedic dentistry, and is intended for measuring the thickness of soft tissues above the bone in any region of interest in the alveolar part of the jaw. A method for comparative measurement of the thickness of soft tissues over the alveolar part of the jaw is proposed, which includes cone-beam computed tomography before tooth extraction, then impressions are taken and models of dentition are made that are scanned. Cone-beam computed tomography data and scans of models are loaded into a computer program and the data of cone-beam computed tomography and scans are compared by reference points, then the thickness of soft tissues above the bone in any area of interest of the alveolar part is measured using the tools built into the program. After tooth extraction, installation of a dental implant and a crown on the implant at the site of the missing tooth, the condition of soft tissues is monitored by re-determining the thickness of soft tissues as described above and compared with the results obtained before tooth extraction, changes in the gum tissues above the bone are determined by the changed gum thickness.
EFFECT: invention provides increased accuracy in determining the thickness of the soft tissue layer above the alveolar bone for diagnosing their condition.
