METHOD FOR REHABILITATION OF PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC OBSTRUCTIVE PULMONARY DISEASE (COPD) WITH CERVICAL EQUIVALENT OF THORACIC SPINE DYSFUNCTION USING MANUAL TECHNIQUES Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC A61H1/00

Abstract RU 2784342 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, medical rehabilitation, spa business, pulmonology and manual therapy. In addition to basic rehabilitation, a sequence of manual techniques is used with three repetitions of each technique on each side: relaxation of the upper portion of the trapezius muscle, relaxation of the extensors of the cervical spine, flexors of the cervical spine, myofascial relaxation of the cervicothoracic junction in two stages, relaxation of the scalene muscles, pectoral muscle, relaxation of the teres major, subscapularis and latissimus dorsi muscles, mobilization of the 1st rib, relaxation of the diaphragm, mobilization of the scapula, relaxation of the respiratory muscles. The sequence of manual therapy techniques is carried out every other day, in a course of 5 procedures, alternating every other day with traction therapy of the cervical spine using a traction apparatus in the vertical position of the patient - sitting, using a dynamic, intermittent mode of traction exposure - with alternation of phases of traction tension during the procedure and relaxation for 10 seconds. In this case, the initial traction load is selected individually - according to the patient's initial sensation of stretching, the duration of the first traction therapy procedure is 10 minutes; at each subsequent traction therapy procedure, this load is increased individually - until the patient feels discomfort during traction, and the duration of each subsequent traction procedure is increased by 2 minutes from the previous one, the course is 5 traction therapy procedures.

EFFECT: method provides regression of clinical symptoms in patients with COPD, improvement of the functional state of the main, auxiliary respiratory muscles and diaphragm, improvement of the psycho-emotional state and exercise tolerance of patients with COPD.
