FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for the production of high-temperature polyfoams (hereinafter – HT-polyfoams) for their further recycling to multilayered structure materials, which are used in aircraft building, shipbuilding, railway engineering, and automotive industry. This method includes foaming of particles of high-temperature polymer (hereinafter – HT-polymer) and sintering at a sintering temperature T1 in a mold to form a molded product of HT-polyfoam. Next, a mold cavity is heated to a temperature T2, which is at least 10°C higher than the sintering temperature and at most 20°C higher than a glass transition temperature of HT-polymer, with exposure to this temperature for 5-120 s. HT-polymer is polyetherimide (PEI). The sintering temperature T1 of HT-polymer is 140-220°C. The glass transition temperature of HT-polymer is 210-235°C. The temperature T2 is within 180-225°C.
EFFECT: development of a non-energy intensive method for the production of HT-polyfoams with maximum solid surface.
