SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fire alarm systems. The method includes the presence of several measurement channels associated with the reference channel. Measuring channels are located in space at an equal distance from the common center. Initially, the signal amplitudes in the measuring channels are isolated. To establish the direction of the arrival of smoke, a total signal is formed in vector form and, based on the results of determining the angle of orientation of such a vector in space, the localization of the smoke source is established.

EFFECT: invention makes it possible to determine the direction of smoke arrival when a fire is detected.
