FIELD: lightning rods.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a device for lightning rods when laying optical communication cables. Rope device with linear and vertical grounding devices for enhanced protection against lightning discharges at the edge of the forest of fiber-optic cables with metal elements of a two-cable communication system contains a lightning protection cable placed above the route of the protected cables at half the depth of their laying, the first and second linear grounding switches, which are located on the depth of laying the lightning protection cable parallel to the edge of the forest and fiber-optic cables, and four vertical ground electrodes. The length of the linear grounding conductors coincides with the length of the convergence of the fiber-optic cables with the edge of the forest. The first and second vertical grounding conductors are physically connected to the ends of the first linear grounding conductor, and the third and fourth are physically connected to the ends of the second linear earthing conductor. The lightning protection cable is physically connected to the linear and vertical grounding conductors with its initial and end perpendicular loop outlets.
EFFECT: increasing the protection of fiber-optic cables with metal elements from lightning discharges.
