SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method for controlling the injection of reducing gas including hydrogen and carbon atoms into a blast furnace. Method includes the stage of finding the correlation between the carbon consumption in the reducing gas and the reduction in Input ΔC in the specific carbon consumption caused by the injection of said reducing gas into the blast furnace, in accordance with the molar ratio of carbon atoms to hydrogen atoms in the reducing gas C/H; determining the carbon consumption in the reducing gas when the reduction in Input ΔC in the specific carbon consumption is equal to or greater than the set target value, based on the correlation found for C/H; and adjusting the amount of reducing gas injected into the blast furnace based on the determined carbon consumption in the reducing gas and the proportion of carbon in the reducing gas.

EFFECT: reduction in the consumption of reducing material and the amount of CO2 emissions.
