FIELD: measuring.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermal physics in the field of radiation heat exchange and pertains to a method for determining the surface temperature of a plate under conditions of stationary one-sided heating when determining the degree of blackness of the plate surface. Substance of the method consists in installing two thermocouples in the tested sample near the plate surfaces. The plate is cut in half; slits 0.3 mm in width and 1 mm in depth are made on the surfaces of the cut near the upper plate surface on one of the halves and near the heated surface on the other half; the butt-welded thermocouples are placed in the slits; the slits are filled with a paste made of a mixture of powdered sample material and high-temperature adhesive on an area at least 10 mm from the junction in both directions; the halves of the plate are adhered, the plate is heated on one side by a constant heat flow until a stationary state is established; the readings of the thermocouples are recorded, and the temperatures of both surfaces are calculated according to the following formulas:
wherein δ is the thickness of the plate, T1 is the temperature of the thermocouple by the heated surface, T2 is the temperature of the thermocouple by the test surface, x1 is the distance from the heated surface to the centre of the thermocouple, and x2 is the distance from the tested surface to the centre of the thermocouples.
EFFECT: numerical modelling of the process of heating the sample confirmed the high accuracy of determining the surface temperature of a plate by the proposed method.
