FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely, to ophthalmology. Myopic refraction and the value of the angle kappa are determined. The presence of weakness of the ligamentous apparatus of the lens is identified, and a decision is made on the possibility of implantation of a multifocal intraocular lens. If myopic refraction with an angle kappa not greater than 0.3 mm is identified in patients and a weakness of the ligamentous apparatus no higher than the first degree of lens subluxation is present according to the ultrasound biomicroscopy data, a decision is made to proceed with the implantation of a multifocal intraocular lens.
EFFECT: possibility to identifying the correlation between the degree of weakness of the ligamentous apparatus of the lens and the probability of undesirable optical phenomena due to the preoperative analysis of the angle kappa.
