FIELD: mining.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method the production of an aqueous mineral suspension with a content of dry solid substances, which is more than 40% of the suspension weight. The method includes addition to a water residue of metal ore of at least one polymer (P) with molecular weight Mw measured by means of gel-penetrating chromatography (GPC), which is in the range from 100,000 to 3x106 g/mol, obtained by means of at least one reaction of radical polymerization, at a temperature of more than 50°C, and selected from: polymer (P1) obtained in a direct emulsion from: (a) at least one anionic monomer containing at least one polymerized olefin unsaturation and at least one group of carboxylic acid, (b) at least one composite ester of acid selected from acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, in the presence of at least one radical-forming compound selected from ammonia persulfate, alkaline metal persulfate, and their combinations or their corresponding combinations with an ion selected from FeII, FeIII, CuI, CuII, and mixtures thereof; polymer (P2) obtained in a reverse emulsion from: (a) at least one anionic monomer containing at least one polymerized olefin unsaturation and at least one group of carboxylic acid or one of its salts, (c) at least one compound selected from acrylamide, acrylamide derivative, acrylamide derivative salt, and combinations thereof, in the presence of at least one radical-forming compound selected from ammonia persulfate, alkaline metal persulfate, and their combinations or their corresponding combinations with an ion selected from FeII, FeIII, CuI, CuII, and mixtures thereof. An aqueous mineral suspension is also proposed.

EFFECT: invention allows for control of essentially important properties of the prepared aqueous suspension, namely Brookfield viscosity and plastic flow stress of the prepared suspension.
