FIELD: water leaks detection.
SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to the detection of water leaks in melting furnaces for the production of metals and alloys. The installation for the production of metals or alloys includes: at least one melting furnace, in particular an electric arc furnace, or at least one installation for processing metals or alloys, equipped with a water cooling system and a system for removing process flue gases. The process flue gas removal system is designed to remove and remove off-gases generated in at least one melting furnace or plant for processing metals or alloys. At the same time, the cooling water is mixed with a tracer chemical, which is deuterated water, which escapes along with the exhaust gases from the melting furnace or plant for processing metals or alloys and is suitable for detection by the analysis system in the exhaust gases generated in at least one melting furnace or in at least one plant for processing metals or alloys. The analysis system is located in the process flue gas removal system.
EFFECT: detection of even minor leaks, quick shutdown of the furnace for repairs.
