FIELD: fiber-optic sensors.

SUBSTANCE: fiber-optic current sensor can be used in the electric power industry, energy-intensive industry, in high-voltage measuring equipment, in the field of relay protection and automation. The sensor uses a sensitive spun light guide contour with orthogonal orientation of the fast axis of the bending linear birefringence to the fast axis of the built-in spiral linear birefringence at the input end of the light guide, and the size of the light-guide contour is chosen so that to maintain a certain functional relationship between the magnitude of the bending birefringence, the magnitude of the built-in birefringence and the magnitude of the twist of the axes of the built-in birefringence.

EFFECT: present invention enables to increase the accuracy of current measurement by obtaining a linear characteristic of the sensor.
