FIELD: polymer chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of polymer chemistry and can find application in the fields of the food, pharmaceutical, biotechnological, medical industries. The proposed method for obtaining copolymers of chitosan with acrylamide involves the chemical interaction of chitosan with acrylamide. Moreover, the modification of chitosan with acrylamide is carried out when treating a solution of chitosan with acrylamide in a 2% solution of acetic acid with ionizing radiation at a layer thickness of no more than 1 cm by moving the solution at a speed of 2 cm/s under the exhaust window of the pulsed electron accelerator ILU-6 at treatment doses of 20, 40, 80 or 160 kGy. After that, the grafted copolymer is isolated from the solution by washing, drying and processing in a vibrating mill for 5 minutes.

EFFECT: invention provides uniform treatment of reaction mixtures without heating them.
