FIELD: biotechnology; chemistry of high-molecular compounds.
SUBSTANCE: disclosed is a method of producing a composition of thermoplastic biocompatible and biodegradable graft copolymers based on chitosan and polylactide, including preparation of salicylic acid solution 1 wt.% in dimethyl sulphoxide, addition of chitosan 3–5 wt.% and thermostating for 12 hours; then L-lactide 3–20 wt.% and catalysts: titanium salicylate, isopropyl alcohol and cetearyl alcohol, each in amount of 0.0015–0.01 wt.%, and synthesis is carried out for 16 hours, after which the mixture is precipitated with distilled water, washed and dried to constant weight.
EFFECT: invention provides thermoplastic properties to biodegradable graft compositions of chitosan with L-lactide while maintaining high content of chitosan for use in medical and biological products.
